Description
Orangutans only exist in Indonesian jungles. Because of the Palm Oil Industry (and many other reasons), Orangutans and their habitats are disappearing rapidly. Naturalists predict that there'll be no more Orangutans by 2010. We need to do something. Let's raise awareness. How can we help?Orangutan Republik Education Initiative (OUREI), an NGO based in Santa Monica, is planning to do a documentary in Indonesia this Summer. We want to help the organization raise money for the project. Come to this event and donate whatever you can to help (Suggested Donation $30/pp).
There'll be a Balinese Gamelan performance by Gamelan KoriMas, Indonesian food and coffee! Meet new people and support our environment.
We welcome anyone who is interested to learn more about Orangutans of Indonesia.
Mr. Gary Shapiro, the founder of OUREI will speak about Orangutans in Indonesia and the current issues facing their existence.
Free event, children are encourage to come.
