Description
Join us for a night of inspired Americana, award-winning bluegrass, fiddle-rock, and hillbilly blues. Featuring: Front Country + Laura Cortese (CD Release Show) + Roosevelt Dime.FRONT COUNTRY (San Francisco)
This who’s who of Bay Area bluegrass and country pickers features members of the Whisky Richards, the Midnight Gamblers, the Heel Draggers, Belle Monroe & Her Brewglass Boys. Formed in 2011 as a collective of the hottest pickers in town, to play a monthly gig in San Francisco’s Mission District. They quickly found a musical rapport that was open to challenging arrangements, unique covers and original songwriting. Their repertoire rapidly expanded and in January of 2012 Front Country became the second San Francisco band in three years to win the prestigious RockyGrass band competition.
The band is; Adam Roszkiewicz (mandolin), Jacob Groopman (guitar), Jordan Klein (banjo), Leif Karlstrom (fiddle), Melody Walker (guitar), and Zach Sharpe (upright bass). https://www.frontcountryband.com

LAURA CORTESE (CD Release Show)
There is nothing timid about Laura Cortese. She wields a fiddle like a rocker slings his guitar, and sings with even more swagger. A native San Franciscan, Cortese moved to Boston to study violin at Berklee College of Music and has since immersed herself in the city’s vibrant indie music scene. She has made appearances with Band of Horses, Pete Seeger, Patterson Hood and Michael Franti, and Jocie Adams of the Low Anthem. Despite her rock n’ roll proclivities, Cortese’s own music is driven not by drums or bass but by strings. http://www.thisislauracortese.com/

ROOSEVELT DIME (Brooklyn, NY)
Imagine yourself relaxing on a steamboat as it lazily floats down the Mississippi River all the way to The Big Easy. Suddenly, the band strikes up a tune, music fills the air and everyone is on their feet, clapping, dancing and singing along. Welcome to the world of Roosevelt Dime, a five-piece, Brooklyn, N.Y.-based band that blends elements of acoustic jug-band blues, classic New Orleans soul and neo-folk to create an original sound best described as Kings County Steamboat Soul. So hop aboard the S.S. Rosie and get ready for the ride of a lifetime!
