BRAVA! for Women in the Arts Presents, "Friends".Written by Kobo Abe and Directed by Raelle Myrick-Hodges
November 5-17, 2008. All Performances start at 8:00 PM.
A man sits at home perfectly happy. Suddenly there is a knock at his door. A family of eight – bright smiles and well groomed, stand at the man’s door. “We are here to help”, the family declares and thus begins the strange trek into Kobo Abe’s 1964 Japanese take on contemporary society and gentrification.
FRIENDS begins the inaugural productions of BRAVA 2nd Stage. Friends is filled with humor and terror. Come check out what the writer of Woman in the Dunes knew about a society gone mad for upward mobility and ‘good’ rent!
