Theatre Bay Area kicks off its 5th annual Free Night of Theatre campaign on September 30th offering over 5,000 tickets completely free of charge with over 120 theatre companies expected to participate. The daylong event in San Francisco’s Union Square will feature live stage performances by local theatre companies, free to the general public from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Starting at noon, tickets will be available at the Union Square ticket booth.Hundreds of free performances opportunities will be ticketed to FNOT audiences over the first two weeks of October 2009, during the first round of ticket giveaways (October 1-15). Tickets will become available for reservation online at http://www.tixbayarea.com/free, on a first-come first-served basis on September 30th beginning at 6:00 PM. The second round will be conducted exclusively online, beginning on October 14th at 6:00 PM, covering performances from October 16th to November 1st.
