This month Platurn, Teeko & Umami will be spreading the funky new year’s cheer!SATURDAY, January 2nd 2010... Check out the debut of SLOANE which resides in the old duplex space. The joint venture of the nightlife impresarios behind competing nightclubs Fluid and Vessel, Sloane's a SOMA lounge handsomely done up almost entirely in exposed brick and stained planks o' Cali Redwood -- a swift departure from Fluid/Vessel's shimmery J. Lo video-ready surfaces (bummer!). The space is broken down into two sections: a drinking area with a 30ft redwood bar backed by a massive rack of blackened steel that illuminates bottles from behind, and an overhead VIP mezzanine equipped with marble floors/DJ booth; there's also a dark corridor adjacent to the main section through which patrons can access a three-story light well to smoke cigs, which even make standing in a light well look cool.
