Flute, Harp and Strings –The Avedis Chamber Music Series opens its 28th season with a program of music for flute, harp and strings in various combinations. French composers Ravel, Jolivet and Damase are featured, honoring Damase’s 85th birthday (Jan. 27) with his scintillating Quintet. The program opens with a Quintet for flute and strings by Romberg, a contemporary of Beethoven, which contrasts with American composer Arthur Foote’s, richly Romantic works, A Night Piece and Scherzo.
