Description
Like puzzle pieces that can be taken apart and put back together in multiple ways, Livia Stein's work invites the viewer to play, even when dealing with more serious themes. With a lifelong appreciation for people and the diversity of cultures, her work provides a unique blend of playfulness and sophistication. Stein freely juxtaposes seemingly random elements from her daily life, with collected items from multiple cultures, parts of history, mythology, and current events.A reception to meet the artist will be held Friday June 18, 2010, from 7-9pm. The reception, along with exhibition, is free and open to the public.
