Description
First Aid for Depression is a day-long class designed for people who live with, love, or work closely with someone who experiences depressive episodes. It is for those who would like to learn practical skills to help them respond to their loved one while maintaining boundaries and balance. The size of this class is limited to a small circle of students to maximize participation and personal attention.Learn about the impact of depression on the brain, the most helpful ways to respond to someone who is depressed, recognizing and responding to worsening symptoms, finding the right type of professional support, setting boundaries, and the absolute importance of self-care. We focus on providing you with language and skills that you can use to reduce the stress that comes with loving or working closely with someone who is living with recurrent, prolonged, or severe low moods.
Participants are asked to bring their own lunch. Coffee, tea, natural beverages, local mountain spring water, and fresh fruit are provided.
