The idea is simple—the Library invites talented narrators to read novels and short stories aloud by the fireside while you sit back, relax and listen. There is a long and nearly lost tradition of reading aloud to adults and Fireside Reading Live is bringing it back. These Sunday evening sessions combine an incredible array of beautiful elements, e.g. the sound of the human voice, the power of story, the gorgeous library setting with its oversized fireplace, cathedral ceilings, and the opportunity for neighbors and strangers alike to share a collective experience.Simon Vance has narrated more than 700 audiobooks, and earned over twenty Earphones Awards from AudioFile magazine. He is a former BBC Radio presenter and newsreader, and a full-time actor who has appeared on both stage and television. Vance has won accolades from across the publishing world and beyond for his masterful ability to bring books to life.
