The reunited fIREHOSE – the band formed by Mike Watt and George Hurley following the 1985 death of their Minutemen bandmate D. Boon – will precede its appearances at April’s two-weekend Coachella Music Valley & Arts Festival with an 11-date club tour of the western U.S. – the trio’s first concerts since splitting in 1994.According to Consequence of Sound, the band, which also features guitarist Ed Crawford, will open its comeback tour April 5 in Sacramento and perform in Oregon, Washington and Arizona, in addition to elsewhere in California, before wrapping the trek April 20 during the second weekend of Coachella. Several of the dates are shared with M. Ward.
Prior to the fIREHOSE reunion, Watt and Hurley also will share the stage March 9 at the Jeff Mangum-curated edition of All Tomorrow’s Parties in Minehead, England, where they will perform Minutemen songs together.
