Description
The Montalvo Arts Center invites you to a special closing reception for their exhibition Mountains in My Spoon: Artists and Food at the Lucas Artists Residency. Chef Kitty Greenwald and artist Grahame Weinbren will discuss their multimedia collaborative work Still Life with Banquet, while artist Susanne Cockrell invites visitors to taste homemade preserves and recounts the rich and varied stories of Bay Area home canners. There will also be a screening of Vorratskammer (Pantry), a film by artist collective My Villages documenting a year of sourcing, harvesting, and preparing food produced in and around Berlin for the Uber Lebenskunst Festival, as well as readings by former Lucas Artist Program Culinary Fellow Jessie Washburn.
