Description

Since Pacific Mozart Ensemble's "Story of Freedom" concert in 2006, performance of African-American Spirituals has become a cornerstone of our identity and we will bring this music on our June tour to Cuba as part of that rich exchange. The concert will include many favorites such as Deep River, I'm Gonna Sing til the Spirit Moves in my Heart, Elijah Rock, Keep Your Hand on the Plow (arr. by Joseph Jennings of Chanticleer) and the quiet and intense There Will Be Rest by Frank Ticheli. Reflecting the full range of spiritual music, this concert will be full of contemplation, stillness, and shouting for joy!
