SOMArts Cultural Center presents Feast of Words: A Literary Potluck, a monthly dinner party where writers and foodies come together to eat, write, and share. Join co-hosts Lex Leifheit and Irina Zadov the third Tuesday of each month to discover local chefs and writers, bring a dish on the monthly theme, and share your work to be entered in a drawing for edibles, books and other prizes!
Writer, performer, and Sister Spit veteran Ben McCoy will follow her reading with a short, on-the-spot writing exercise for the audience. A team of culinary guests from the youth-run 1940’s style supper club Old Skool Café and potluck contributors from the audience will provide the evening’s meal.
The theme “I Am Crime” is inspired by I Am Crime: Art on the Edge of Law, a visual art exhibition on view in SOMArts’ Main Gallery March 9–April 19. Guests of Feast of Words: A Literary Potluck may wish to arrive early to view this exhibition of more than 30 artists and collectives that challenge, question or circumvent the law through their work.
House opens at 6:30pm on Tuesday, Mar. 20, and space is limited. Tickets are $10 in advance, $5 with a potluck dish, or $12 at the door, cash bar. Purchase tickets online at feastofwords.eventbrite.com.
