Opening on First Friday, September 4th, elsewhere galley presents “Exo Zone” a collection of paintings by Pierre Flandreau, Marin County artist

Flandreau's paintings and drawings are the contemporary edge of the history of European and American art of the past 200 years. Connected intimately with that visual history, yet restlessly searching for the forms that allow his personal aesthetic to be wedded with current events, his work demonstrates the fluency of aesthetic and imagination that only come from a lifetime of devotion to the process. Flandreau's work has the remarkable power to make dark or threatening subjects playful and disarmingly beautiful. As art, his paintings traverse a territory filled with enthusiastic recognition and surprises without end.
