Description
Cleveland is one of America's forgotten musical hotspots. From Bone Thugs to Pere Ubu, it has always proven fertile ground for an eclectic range of music. Tenor saxophonist Ernie Krivda represents that eclecticism, embodying the restless creativity of the Sixth City. His resume is almost a who's who of late 20th century jazz. He's played with Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Quincy Jones (after a personal recommendation from Cannonball Adderley) and Big Band pop artist Jimmy Dorsey. Krivda's most recent release, 2015's Requiem for a Jazz Lady, is an introspective post-bop journey into the living history of Cleveland jazz. (MH)
