Description
The art of Erin Goodwin-Guerrero is the product of a curious and questioning mind, a restless hand, and the need to be heard. Her most recent work is charged with aggressive color, yet the complex symbolism and layers of related imagery require patients and reflection to extract bits of sensible information. Prevalent themes in her artwork include: boxing as a metaphor for struggle of the underdog, death as an eternal actor in human drama, the sexual/senual undercurrent of most human ritual, and the search for and abuse of the truth. Her most recent work involves many of these themes and features guest appearances by figures from art and cultural history.On Friday June 18, 2010, from 7-9pm, a reception to meet the artist will be held.
