Environmental Drawing with Marci WashingtonAdults 18 and up
Saturdays, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Four weeks: July 24–August 14
This class investigates drawing as a way of understanding and interpreting the world around you. Drawing from the natural world and from personal objects of your choice, participants will consider the special nature of the transformation between seeing and depicting. Take advantage of the UC Berkeley campus environment while working with a professional Bay Area artist to create large-scale drawings at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive. (Butcher paper will be provided. Please bring any non-oil-based drawing materials that you prefer. No paint, please.)
