How much do you know on how we got into this emoji filled world?On April 27th, join the NextGen board at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View to find out. At this event you will have the opportunity to learn about a delicious new Emoji and how new emoji get approved. You will also have a unique opportunity to learn more about the devices that shaped the way that we read and write to each other. At this event, you will be able to:
- Learn about the upcoming Dumpling Emoji and how it became part of the Unicode standard
-Take pictures in our Emoji photo booth
-Hear and see some of the ways that text messages can be sent via radio
-Run your favorite Unix commands on working CIT-101 computer terminal.
-Discover why ASCII has non-printable characters like BEL, STX, and ETX
-Visit the Computer History Museum's collection and see some of the devices that shaped the way that text was stored and transmitted
