Mixing the influences of Jobim, Bud Powell and classical music with the rhythmic underpinnings of Brazilian samba, Elias always comes up with intriguing musical insights. A strong, emotive pianist and composer, Elias’ occasional vocalizing, in dynamic contrast to her strong piano playing, is warm, intimate and enticing.
