Description
This Friday the Thirteenth, Prize premieres the music video for Terror Machine, a minimal, haunting synth-rock gem. The neoburlesque-tinged show includes signature black and white costumes made by Prize, projection, lasers, and otherspecial effects!
Sophia Santulli is Prize, the electro-rock siren who, after earning her Master of Music at San Francisco Conservatory and singing opera locally and abroad, recently released The Split EP under the moniker Prize. She writes all of the material for her band, made up of Lisa Weaklim on drums plus guitar, synth, violin, and cello players.
In the handful of months since her EP release, Prize has played a dozen shows at notable venues in San Francisco and Oakland, including headlining the Red Devil Lounge, opening for Religious Girls at Bottom of the Hill, and playing the Indie Rebel Music Tour at Stork Club.
As Sophia dreamed up Prize, she was not only studying at the conservatory, but paying her dues as a backup singer in San Francisco, performing and recording with artists such as Third Eye Blind, John Vanderslice, Two Foot Yard, The
Dodos, and Gabriel Leis at venues including Great American Music Hall, Davies Symphony Hall, Swedish American Hall, Palace of Fine Arts (Noise Pop 2010), and SFMOMA. She is also a guest vocalist on electronica artist Ladder's upcoming album engineered by Glenn Morrison.
