Description
Local artist, Maggie Hurley, woke up one morning with a clear vision of how she might be able to positively contribute to society.Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes about 6 years ago, she noticed a giant hole in her treatment: while doctors and nurses were happy to educate her on medicine, diet, and the consequences of an unregulated condition, no one ever talked much about what it meant to be diagnosed with a life-altering illness and the impact it has on one's life.
Convinced that people would take better care of themselves if this hole was filled, Maggie has decided to go back to school to learn how to help people manage the psychological impact of an unwanted medical condition.
