Do you want to eat fresh, pure, nutrient dense, vital greens and veggies and fruits? Do you want to build rich teaming with life soil? Do you want to feel the sun on your skin, fingers and toes in the dirt and have a big smile on your face? Do you want to save money year round? Do you want to eat a rainbow everyday and impress your friends with huge cabbages and gourmet meals from your back or front yard? Its timely, radical, beautiful, honest healthy, fun, political, and saves you money!

This EAT YOUR BACKYARD WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU! We'll teach you how to have it this year, building soil, making beds, designing with permaculture principles. NOW IS THE TIME for local action that benefits us!

This workshop will teach you how to:
- grow living soil and compost
- how to sheet mulch
- how to start seed
- beneficial ecological design principles
- plants guilds and intro to perennial and Food Forest systems
- rudimentary greywater irrigation
- intro to water conserving earthworks

We will introduce the design principles of Permaculture to create an integrated restorative and beautiful food and habitat garden with your local landscape and your lifestyle for year round ecological balance and beauty and a rainbow of glorious foods.

Reclaiming our inherant expertise and interest in growing some our own food is one of the most critcal restorative healings one can do to reconnect and reweave ourselves into the magnificent web of life. It is an honest purposeful and joyful sacred act to grow soil, plant and save seeds, and tend a living food forest ecosystem and begin to feed onself, one's family and friends from the Earth you tend. It is our right relationship with Mama EArth and everything in our being sings when we find our way back to the food garden in our backyard.

We are waking up to the lie that is the industrial food complex. Dead soils, unnatural monocropping, toxic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides and GMO's that all impune their destruction on our inner and outer health, while destroying the balance of sun, water, soil, insects and us - no longer makes sense. Full Fee is $65 for daylong worskhop and sliding scale of $60-$55 for currently employed teachers in schools, for currently registered students at UC, Cabrillo, SJSU, 5 Branches or CSUMB, or fixed income like SSI, Disability, or Welfare. Eat Your Own Backyard is taught by Palika - Permaculture Educator and Ecological Regenerative Designer, Backyard Food Enthusiast and EcoSpiritual Mentor.

Bring a bag lunch for the full day workshop and lots of water and hat for outside. Also bring a notepad. We will sheet mulch and compost and start some seed!
