Featuring your fellow Bonetonians:

ARIZE (Bad Vibrance//K12)
http://soundcloud.com/arize
http://www.nocturnalismsf.com/artists/arize

Noticeable in his selection, mixing, and most of all stage presence, Arize’s passion for drum n’ bass is constantly reflected upon listeners during his sets as he seamlessly blends track after track of rhythmical drum patterns and teeth-chattering bass lines. A prominent and talented figure in both Bay Area and LA Drum n’ Bass, Arize continues to bring his fiery style to the tables at parties up and down the California Coast - Weekend after weekend. This young yet accomplished DJ shows no signs of slowing things up with a budding aptitude for production and frequent bookings in LA.

JOEY MOJO (Bass Space//Power In Music)
http://soundcloud.com/joey-mojo

Joey Mojo has been rocking crowds up and down the west coast since 2002, displaying a mix of drum and bass and turntablism that is influenced by hip-hop, reggae/dancehall, funk and rock. Starting in Los Angeles and moving his way to the Bay Area, he has gained a broad array of musical tastes and techniques. In 2009 he hooked up with Cheech & Chong's North American tour, sponsored by Live Nation. It was that point when he became comfortable spinning in front of thousands of people on a regular basis. You can usually spot him playing on more than 2 decks, displaying his style of speed-mixing and turntablism. He now studies Music Industry at San Francisco State University, where he is quickly developing his skills in music production. He has recently branched out to include other genres in his sets such as hip-hop, drumstep, dubstep, reggae and dancehall.

BEN DEPLOY -

Growing up in Manchester, UK I witnessed Acid House in the newspapers and Altern-8 on TV. Prodigy, Xtc and dehydration. Margaret Thatcher and the ban of the yellow smiley face. What was it all about?

Listening to Aphex Twin’s hectic Breakbeats I was turned on to Drum and Bass in 1995 after moving to San Francisco. In 1997, I went to my first warehouse rave.
I had been playing Jungle/ Drum and Bass then in 1999 played to my first crowd at a Deploy underground party in San Francisco. At this event I got such a good reaction from the crowd and promoters, they asked me to become part of the crew. At the time, I was using the DJ name Ben Kenobi.

As I did more parties with Deploy I began to make new contacts and meet other DJs thus forming to make IRG with DJs Fife, Natetron and M23. As IRG we started a weekly free DnB night at Bad Abbots bar with mc Child.

In February 2002 I moved to Manchester England. The death of Ben Kenobi and the birth of Ben Deploy. Through SOITIZ Acid Techno forum I linked up with Dom Ransom and played for Beatzcentral, a Drum and Bass night. Beatzcentral had me headline one night then later open up for Simon Bassline Smith. A few underground parties, time in the studio with Buzzy Abasi, making tunes with KZA, a radio show and getting to know the locals for two years. With many strong connections made in the North I flew back to San Francisco in 2004 to return to a drum and bass scene with far less energy than it had in 2002.

Back in SF I played Atmospheric Drum and Bass and Jazz at a wine bar weekly for a few months. I took a break for a few years and also built my record collection adding Jazz and a variety of old school dance and Hip-Hop. In the past few years, I have appeared at many underground parties, camp-outs, club nights and internet radio shows. As time has passed my audience has grown with my record collection as it should. I am always working on electronic music but nothing released yet.

Storehouse is my next focus. All vinyl all old school dance. I specialize in Drum and Bass and Old School dance.

JAYSON LAROSE

https://twitter.com/

You can boil Jayson Larose's taste in dance music down to what he calls "The Three Bs": Breakbeat, Bass, and BPM. "Backstory" and "Biography" are NOT part of the three Bs, so if you want to hear that, track him down, come say hi, and bring your passion for electronic music (he was given his first mix tape in 1995, and there's a LOT of ground to cover between then and now).

Breakbeat - Sweet swingin' syncopated swagger sends spirits soaring.

Bass - How are you supposed to move to music if you can't FEEL it?

BPM - A tepid tempo transforms the floor into a travesty.

Drum & Bass is the beating heart at the nexus of the three Bs, modern Drum & Bass moreso than ever. Jayson Larose blends tasty tracks from the likes of Tantrum Desire, Delta Heavy, and Camo & Krooked into a veritable beat buffet of well-timed drops and surgically precise transitions, with the end goal of keeping YOU shuffling to the sounds or bopping to the half-time beat.
