An evening of live performances, an enticing silent auction and delicious treats, for the benefit of the Duniya Center for Arts and Education (DCAE) in Conakry, Guinea (West Africa). Peruse the silent auction while enjoying treats from Onigilly and Madeline’s Bakery. Evening highlights include West African, Bollywood, and Bhangra dance performances by Duniya Dance and Drum Company; Roots/reggae/dancehall grooves from Wontanara Revolution (live) and guest DJs; live dancehall performance by Charlotte Nehm; live Son Jarocho/rhythm tap dance performance by Vanessa Sanchez; bellydance by Naila; and a West African dance lesson.100% of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go to DCAE programs in Guinea to finance and expand its micro-lending program, English language and computer literacy classes, and professional artist development. The DCAE’s mission is to facilitate educational, vocational, artistic, and social activities at our facility in Conakry, Guinea, while providing valuable local employment opportunities through the center’s daily operations. DCAE also seeks to foster cross-cultural exchange between residents of Conakry and the global community through a reciprocation of skills and knowledge.
