Description
A VIP reception and lecture featuring Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, UN Messenger of Peace, and Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, will be held on Oct. 1, 2009, to benefit two children’s charities. The theme of the evening will be “Reason for Hope,” drawing on Goodall’s book of the same name and highlighting how to nurture and sustain hope for and with children. Dr. Goodall has commented: "Young people, when informed and empowered, when they realize that what they do truly makes a difference, can indeed change the world."The reception will include beverages and heavy hors d'oeuvres, a signed copy of Jane Goodall’s book “Reason for Hope,” and a personal photograph taken with Dr. Goodall. A lecture and question-and-answer session will follow. Proceeds will benefit Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots and the International Child Resource Institute.
Interviews with the ICRI and Roots & Shoots directors are available for scheduling, and a possible interview with Dr. Goodall could be arranged.
