Description

About Indie Mart
we are a party. and we feature unique and new local designers, vintage, re-worked vintage, tees and live silkscreening, we even have undies sometimes, records, bikes, handmade foods and cupcakes (always cupcakes), quirky finds, antiques and much more. we arent just a design fair, a craft fair, a party...we are much more and trying to redefine how people shop and spend.

even in a bad economy, we do all right. cuz its fun and its local! mix all that in with great dj's, stiff drinks, cheap beers, great food and all kinds of fun eye candy. in the summer we get bigger and have street fairs with punk & rock bands, bbq food and fun stuff to do. in the winter, we move indoors to your fave rock venues and dive bars around the city.

the indie mart was started by kelly malone, in 2007 in her yard in the mission. it was 300 people crammed in her yard with vendors all around the house selling cool shit, kellys friends grilling up organic food and kelly making stiff drinks with herbs form her own garden & slinging pbr tall boys all while sarah and tony played records in the bushes...literally. (not much room)

it has since grown from 300 attendees to about 3000-4000. though the indie mart started in the mission and will always come back, we always try new venues and move around so we can bring you great places, bands, djs and sometimes a full street fair. we promote in dive bars and make our own fliers.

its about something different. its about uniquer stuff than your average craft fair. its about fun. its about launching new designers, creating a community, inspiring diy, not limiting design or what people like to buy and partnering with rad folks like noise pop, little star & more. its helped blossom careers for some designers and spawned all kinds of creative ventures for our crew of friends. we offer a fun, affordable venue for people to sell their wares. we also have dozens of local buyers that shop the mart now for designers. we are having a blast and bring you all along for the ride.

"If I was walking across the mountains near Lake Tahoe, and say I was hungry, there would be no other band I'd rather eat than The Downer Party. They're young and have the feel good party indie rock vibe. Lead singer Sierra also did vox for Elephone and she's well on her way to holding the torch as San Francisco's premiere female rocker to watch catapult to international celebrity."
