Despite the obvious complexity of Dogcatcher's music-soul grooves textured with jazz, folk and indie-rock elements-the best way to describe the band is "easy." In fact, Dogcatcher titled their newest album It's Easy. This isn't to say that the music is thoughtless. Rather, it's intellectual music that encourages listeners to deliberately shed their anxieties and ease into the relaxed grooves and smooth Rhodes organ and just make the decision to feel good. Singer Andrew Heine has a lot to say in each song, but he is very economical with his words. If you really pay attention, you'll grasp it all. It's easy.
