Dogcatcher:
There’s something magical that happens when four musicians come together from four completely different backgrounds. For Mountain View’s Dogcatcher, the result is a mellow, subtly-intense blend of soul, jazz, folk and indie-rock. Their first album, KILR, was a quiet folk-oriented solo album Heine wrote while living in San Diego and digesting the Iraq War he’d recently returned from. After KILR, Heine returned to his hometown, Mountain View, and formed a proper group, plucking musicians out of totally different bands to create an eclectic, genre-defying sound. On Dogcatcher’s second album, It’s Easy, the four members demonstrate that they have truly come into their own.

The Midnight Snackers (midnight set):
Never ones to look something cool in the mouth, guitarist/saxophonist Dylan Haas and drummer Ralph Patterson of whiskey-soacked, half-ironic glam rockers Aftershocker teamed up with bassist Aaron Sankin and multi-instrumentalist Brendan Ahern of art-damaged weirdos Dubious Ranger with the intention of creating garage rock at its most raw and primal.

The Velvet Diplomacy:
The Velvet Diplomacy is primarily a quartet of lush guitars, thick vintage keys, punch-drunk drums and hefty melodic bass. All hailing from the SF Bay Area, the band members have played together in various projects over the years. Sounds range from Death Cab to MuteMath and the faint echoes of Radiohead.

Dubious Ranger:
If you like Beck, Tom Waits, David Bowie, Radiohead, Nick Cave, Talking Heads, and Lou Reed, you'll probably like Dubious Ranger. We play groove-centered, melodic tunes, and in lieu of a drumkit, we play with a percussion ensemble using homemade or found instruments. Audience participation is encouraged.
