Desco in Old Oakland to Offer an Italian "Carnevale" Inspired Prix Fixe Menu

Desco in Old Oakland, from Wednesday, February 4 through Tuesday, February 17 (except for Valentine's Day), will be offering, in addition to their regular a la carte menu, a $36.00 "Carnevale da Desco" three-course prix fixe dinner menu showcasing traditional Italian culinary specialties associated with local carnivals. In addition, the restaurant will provide guests with a voucher good for a $10.00 discount on daytime gondola rides (www.gondolaservizio.com) on Lake Merritt (not valid on Valentine's weekend). In coming months, Desco will be offering other "carnevale" themed menus.

The special February menu will include Carnevale Di Venezia (traditional Venetian “cicchetti” of salted cod mantecato, black riso venere fritters, marinated white anchovies and radicchio puree, and chicken liver pate with caramelized onion); Carnevale d’Ivrea (traditional Piemontese agnolotti del plin, veal demi-glace , sage pesto and blood orange zest powder0; and Carnevale Ambrosiano (duo of traditional Lombardia dolcetti of organic apple and pinenuts fried dough on top of lemon crema, with baked chiacchiere).
