Description
The works of David King are traditional hand-cut and paste collage that act as an exploration of his life experiences, as in the series “Benevolent Skies” where he created pieces that mirror the peacefulness and benevolent energy that are as much a part of the world as the troubles that we all face on a daily basis. King’s work has been shown in Europe and across the U.S., including venues such as Artist’s Space in New York, The Soap Factory in Minneapolis, theYerba Buena Center for the Arts, and The Lab in San Francisco. In 2008-9 he spent four months as an Artist in Residence at SF Recycling and Disposal (aka-the Dump), a prestigious program that promotes recycling and resource conservation through its support of Bay Area artists."The bejeweled environments I decorate, reflect the utopian ideal, and are meant for the viewer to follow a path towards their own peaceful, jeweled existence." — D. King
