Description
Featuring Mike Dred, Exillon, Forest Green, Safety Scissors, Cindi Looper, Timber.Mike Dred - "The Jimi Hendrix of the 303" & "Full on Acid Genius". He
is also known as The Kosmik Kommando, Universal Indicator, Chimera,
Machine Codes, Space Avenger, and DJ Judge Dred. He was the first
artist other than Aphex Twin to release a project on Rephlex. The
Universal Indicator records released on Rephlex are amongst the most
collectible recordings in the history of techno music. We are lucky
and very pleased to have Mike present us with his acid in the suitably
matched underground cellar at Club Six in San Francisco.
Exillon - began playing drums at 12, was hooked on guitar by 13,
started fiddling around with a bass at 15, and then his family got
their first computer and a sample based sequencer called Impulse
Tracker. Curiosity quickly evolved into a disturbing infatuation. And
his dedication shows with the elegance of his music. Primarily focused
on evolving the acid techno sound into introverted, melancholic and
hopeful club bangers, he brings strictly computer based music to a new
level. His releases on Ad Noiseam, Puzzling Records & Zod Records
demonstrates his dedication to perfection, and is indicative of great
things to come.
DJ Forest Green - Starting her DJ journey in the 1990's San Francisco
underground, Forest Green continues to explore the art of rocking the
dance floor, and mastering the mix. 11 years later, she continues
taking things to the next level, amazing crowds with her high energy,
hot bass lines, and soul gripping grooves. Expect to hear only the
freshest jamz, as she searches high and low for the most cutting edge,
floor shaking, booty quaking EDM the world has to offer, and brings it
straight to you!
Safety Scissors - A picture of his then-present girlfriend adorned
with gag-store glasses, brandishing a pair of children's scissors,
this token of good luck followed Mr. Matthew Patterson Curry
everywhere when he started DJing. Cutting his teeth as a weekly
resident of San Francisco's Static club - and Surrounded by the likes
of Kit Clayton, Sutekh, Twerk, Kid 606, and Matmos - MPC was provided
with musical support and inspiration for first forays into production.
Under his Safety Scissors moniker his first records were logically
lumped into what was referred to, at least by German patrons, as "SF
Laptop Techno". Like most artists in the trendy "clicks and cuts"
scene, his music embellished recording errors and digital detritus.
But beyond celebrating the errors of computers, MPC also treasured the
errors and mishaps in his everyday life.
