Description

Asha - San Francisco presents two nights of fun - Dandiya Raas 2012
19th October & 3rd November, 2012

Dust off those ethnic clothes and put on your dancing shoes to enjoy a night of non-stop dancing, electrifying energy, bright colors, captivating beats, and, of course, the rhythmic clitter clatter of dandia sticks.

Dandia Raas is an ancient, traditional dance form of India performed during Navratri - a nine-day celebration of music and dance to observe the triumph of good over evil.

Come celebrate Navratri with DJ Shem and Asha-SF. TWO nights of fun and festivities! Each night will end with an all-out bhangra dance party with tunes old and new!

Don't think you can dance?
We have free lessons starting at 8:00 PM if you are novice or just looking to tune your grove. The steps are basic and most people pick up the dance within 30 minutes of the lesson.

Every dollar we raise during the event will go towards grassroots organizations in India to help educate a child in need. About Asha for Education: AfE is a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit organization. AfE SF chapter raises awareness and funds to help educate underprivileged children in India so they can have a better life. Find out more about Asha at http://www.ashanet.org
