Dakshina Palli, Inc (NYC) presents "Evening of BharataNatayam" featuring dancer Jaan R. Freeman. Mr. Freeman a disciple of Nandini Ramani and Priyamvada Sankar ( both were senior disciples of T. Balasaraswati). Mr. Freeman is one of two male dancer performing in the lineage of T. Balasaraswati today.The program will feature items from the traditional repertoire.Mr. freeman hails from a style which is elegant, sophisticated and has the ability to explore the deep emotional range of the poetic text set fourth in the music."It is a rare opportunity to see such a lineage"
