Lavay Smith is taking time from licking skillets and recording a new album of jazz classics to pay tribute to the country music legend. Carmen Getit has ditched her regular gig with Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums. Belle Monroe sings not only swing, but also bluegrass (with her band the Brewglass Boys). These three Bay Area sirens have hit upon a great idea with this tribute to perhaps country’s greatest female vocalist. Thank God they have the chops to pull it off.
