Description
Nine years ago Chris Martenson was an executive with a Fortune 300 company and living with his wife and three children in a 5-bathroom waterfront house in Mystic, Connecticut. But based on the future he foresees, Martenson, who holds a PhD and MBA, has opted for a much more sustainable lifestyle, and now lives with his family in rural Massachusetts in a 1.5 bathroom home. He says he is much happier in his simpler life, which includes raising chickens, brewing beer, and growing a garden. His children are homeschooled and he manages his own investments. The combination of financial market volatility and depleting resources (notably peak oil) present a challenging outlook for investors. Building wealth is even more daunting when considering how flimsy government figures about the economy can be. If the great disruption is near or here, what are some tips for building a resilient family and community? Join us for a conversation with a noted futurist about charting a course to prosperity through the coming turbulence ahead.
