Description

“Coyote Grace plays with the heart of traditional country and Americana music, but tells their stories with a bold twist. They write heartwrenching melodies and make such textured harmonies that I find myself enraptured and taken by their timelessness of song.” - Amy Ray (Indigo Girls)

Armed with a bevy of acoustic instruments from guitar and upright bass to banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and accordion, Coyote Grace mixes bluegrass and blues, soul and Southern twang into a unique sound that hovers just beyond the edge of ‘familiar.’ At once both radically progressive and unashamedly nostalgic, Coyote Grace is not afraid to slip Left Coast politics into a traditional groove, because the honesty of their message shines through.Songwriters Ingrid Elizabeth and Joe Stevens are at the heart of Coyote Grace, accompanied by the latest addition of frequent collaborator and multi-instrumentalist Michael Connolly. Joe’s rough-edged, soft voice, intertwines with Ingrid’s blues-shouter, cabaret vocals and together they create the sweetest of harmonies. Coyote Grace has just released and is touring in support of their latest release 'Now Take Flight' recorded at Michael Connolly's renowned Empty Sea studios in Seattle.

Portland, OR’s Fast Rattler made its debut on the 2009 Grammy-nominated album “Singing Through the Hard Times: A Tribute to Utah Phillips,” which included artists like Emmylou Harris, Ani DiFranco, Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton paying their respects at the passing of one of Folk music’s activist heroes.Fronted by Utah’s son Brendan, Fast Rattler dug deep into Utah’s extensive catalogue, crafting their own versions of his songs and setting his poems to music. The members of Fast Rattler are songwriting vagabond troubadours, virtuosic instrumentalists and collectors of old songs. Distinguished by versatility and a reverence for Utah’s legacy – the ensemble easily shape shifts in order to bring the music to as many listening situations as possible.
