Description

Are you hoping to avoid the trap of setting New Year’s goals that will end up forgotten by March? Perhaps you’ve decided to side-step the problem by not setting goals at all? Join us as we reveal how we habitually set goals from a belief that we need to be improved. We don’t. If self-improvement as a practice worked, it would have worked by now.

Join us as we transcend this assumption and learn to set intention from a place of consciousness, balance, and compassion. In this workshop we will spend time honoring what we’ve created in the past, letting go and wiping the slate clean. A specific meditation/chant will be offered that balances the energetic system and opens us to a new world full of possibility – a world that is available to you through the practice of consciousness.
This workshop will be open to those new to Awareness Practice and to those more experienced. Come prepared in loose and comfortable clothing for a day of workshop exercises, discussion, journaling, visualizations, and meditation. Bring a journal and something to write with. Come prepared to leave with an outlined plan that will assist you in living the life you want to live in 2013.

There are no prerequisites and all are welcome. Suitable for those who are new to Awareness Practice as well as those who are more experienced and wish to deepen their practice.

Caverly Morgan has been devoted to Zen Awareness Practice for the last sixteen years, during eight of which she lived and trained at a silent Zen Monastery. She is the founder and director of One House of Peace, http://www.onehouseofpeace.org, a nonprofit organization that began as a small meditation center in Sacramento, CA, and has recently expanded into Portland, OR, where Caverly maintains her own spiritual practice while offering the gift of practice to others.

Caverly currently teaches workshops throughout the country and also sees clients, who wish to bring a practice of consciousness into their lives and/or deepen their spiritual pathway, on an individual basis. In working with students, she is known for addressing the questioner, not merely the question. Her unique combination of humor and clarity, along with her unwavering commitment to consciousness, provide the foundation for the work of transformation that she practices and offers to the world.

Caverly’s experience as a monk informs her work’s focus on being present, aware, and disciplined. Her training with the Center for Self-Teaching has expanded her practice and teaching to include emphasis on the energetic system.
