Come celebrate three of the most distinguished local stars, from right here in our own back yard! In continuation of its 60-year dedication to providing “Local and Live” music, the Peninsula Symphony’s March concert features Zachariah Spellman, tuba, and Rufus Olivier, bassoon, both members of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, and Heidi Hau, piano. Pieces include Vaughan Williams’s Tuba Concerto, Vivaldi’s Bassoon Concerto, Weber’s Andante and Hungarian Rondo, and Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2. (www.peninsulasymphony.org) Performances are on March 20 & 21 at 8pm at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center and the Flint Center in Cupertino.
