Description
The San Francisco Symphony and the Grammy Award-winning 100-voice SFS Chorus join forces to perform a stirring selection of holiday choral favorites including The First Noel, O Come All Ye Faithful and O Holy Night, plus carols from Sweden and works by Bach and Britten. Conducted by Chorus Director Ragnar Bohlin, the Chorus and one of Bohlin’s sons will perform his arrangement of Alice Tegner’s “Three Gingercookie Men.” “Look, Shepherds of Bethlehem,” by Folke Bohlin, Bohlin’s father, is also on the program. The Swedish carols evoke the holiday traditions of that Scandinavian country, where people gather in the schools and churches at this season to sing together and bring warmth and light to the long winter nights.
