Description
The Center for Literary Arts at San Jose State University is proud to present a reading and book signing event with Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. She is the author of eighteen books of fiction, poetry, and children's fiction, including the story collection Arranged Marriage, winner of the American Book Award; The Mistress of Spices; Sister of My Heart; and the forthcoming novel Oleander Girl. Divakaruni's books have been translated into 29 languages, and her short stories have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The New Yorker, Best American Short Stories, and O. Henry Prize Stories. She currently teaches in the Creative Writing program at the University of Houston.
