Description
Celebrate the Year of the Pig with a visit to the Conservatory of Flowers, where the botanical bounty of Chinese New Year will be artfully arranged into a stunning display on view for one month only this February. The Conservatory’s Potted Plants Gallery will be filled with the blossoms, colors and fragrances that bring good fortune and prosperity for the coming year. A sea of red azaleas and red anthuriums bring great splashes of lucky red into the gallery, while deliciously scented yellow narcissus flowers lend a golden hue to the display. Blooming branches of quince and pussy willow, as well as potted kumquat, mandarin orange and pomelo, boost all visitors’ chances for good fortune and wealth in 2007. Also on display will be an example of Penjing, the fascinating Chinese art of creating miniature mountainous landscapes with stones and small plants.More Info
