Description

Peter Alan Davy and Jason Delgadillo, present work depicting chiaroscuro—a term characterized by strong contrast between light and dark. Davy & Delgadillo move beyond gradiant to explore the allegorical meaning of the term. Davy's work focuses on the theme of a shining hero. Figures such as Gandhi and Florence Nightingale are represented through the medium of wood cut and printed using only two colors. Delgadillo, through use of oil paints, lithography, and intaglio, creates scenes of destruction and chaos that reference an over-arching theme of morbidity and over-population. The show will run for the duration of the summer session, and will feature an opening and closing reception.
