Description
As part of the busy Stanford Jazz Festival, trumpeter Erik Jekabson and his quintet salute the memorable, haunted music of jazzman Chet Baker, whose image and sound combined to form a lasting statement about "cool jazz" during his brief early career before drugs took their toll. Jekabson's quintet features a familiar name on the local scene, saxophonist Smith Dobson V, son of the late pianist Smith Dobson IV, who was such a significant part of our jazz scene for many years.
