Description
Throughout history, composers have been inspired by the musicians who brought their music to life. This month's program features music inspired by clarinetists. Anton Stadler wasMozart’s inspiration for the Kegelstatt Trio. In the next generation of composers, Brahms created his Clarinet quintet in B minor for clarinetist Richard Muhlfeld. The results were some
of the most beautiful music ever written for the Clarinet. Also on the program is Robert Schumann's Fantasiestucke that was originally written for clarinet and piano but is often played with viola instead. Don’t miss some of the bay area’s top classical musicians paying tribute to this magnificent instrument:
