Description
Chad Moore's paintings and sculptures are intense abstractions that meander in movement, color, and theme. The ability to house cryptic darkness with a flickering subtext of light propels the work beyond simple categorization.The fierce physicality of Moore's painting is evident in brush strokes that muscle across the canvas. Colors cover colors forming mesmerizing tapestries, as if the oil captured the canvases like a woolly mammoth in a bog. Moore's work is not for the faint of heart. He doesn't paint pop-tastic images of fun. The work brings levity at a time when ignorance can be preferred.
The show will also be open to view Sunday-Tuesday by appointment.
