Beethoven - Cello Sonata in No.4 in C Major, Op.102, No.1; Britten - Cello Sonata in C, Op. 65; Schumann - Fantasie-stucke, Op.73; Sollima - Lamentatio; Shostakovich - Sonata for cello and piano in D Minor, Op.40Cellist Boris Andrianov, winner of the bronze medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, is the first Russian laureate at the International Rostropovich Competition in Paris. His talent has been recognized by musicians such as Zubin Mehta – “his profound musicality and phrasing (that) impresses one almost immediately.” and Daniil Shafran - “Boris Andrianov is probably one of the most talented cellists of Russia at present.” Boris Andrianov has performed at the Moscow Conservatory halls, Moscow Philharmonic Hall, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, the Concertgebouw, Tokyo’s Opera City and Suntory Hall and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
In June 2005, Russian-born Alexander Kobrin was awarded the prestigious Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Gold Medal at the twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Immediately following this announcement, Kobrin began his first tour of the United States including recitals for the Cliburn Series and for the Washington Performing Arts Society followed by further debuts. Kobrin has been a faculty member on the International Keyboard Festival in Mannes School of Music in NYC since 2005. In 2010, he was appointed the L. Rexford Whiddon Distinguished Chair in Piano at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.
