Dinner, followed by an impromptu jam session that was the moment that everything happened. It was the first time that we sang and we knew right then. It was the beginning of Cecilio & Kapono!
Soon came amazing duo performances including the infamous Frank Zappa concert and Hawaii's "Woodstock", The Diamond Head Crater "Sunshine Festival", leading to 8 consecutive months of SOLD OUT performances 6 nights a week at the Legendary Rainbow Villa in Waikiki. As the Villa literally ripped piece after piece of the bar out, they still could not keep up with the "C&K" phenomena.
Inevitably, C&K moved to The Waikiki Shell, Hawaii's Amphitheatre under the stars nestled at the foot of Diamond Head, where they still hold the largest attendance record with 10,000 fans inside and another 4000 outside! Within a couple of months, C&K had a multi-album National Recording Co
