Description
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the American Studio Glass art movement.Harvey Littleton ignited the American Studio Glass art movement with his seminal workshops at the Toledo Art Museum in 1962. Students from these first workshops then went on to form glass programs at Universities around the country.
Glass education at California College of Arts and Crafts (now CCA) was founded by one of these American glass pioneers, Marvin Lipofsky, in 1967.
To honor the early and continuing role of the CCA Glass Program in the studio glass movement, CCA's Glass Department will host a hot-glass demonstration and lecture (underwritten by Glass Alliance of Northern California) as well as a Glass Alumni Art Show
