The Joan and Ralph Lane Center at The University of San Francisco (USF) is hosting a discussion with Reverend Thomas Massaro, S.J. titled “Catholics, Politics, and Conscience: The 2012 Election.” This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.Father Thomas Massaro is the new dean of Santa Clara University's Jesuit School of Theology. He holds a doctorate in Christian social ethics from Emory University. In addition to his regular column in America magazine, he has published dozens of articles and book reviews in scholarly journals as well as more popular venues. Among the seven books he has produced are two volumes offering an ethical evaluation of American social welfare policies, as well as three editions of the popular classroom text Living Justice: Catholic Social Teaching in Action (originally published by Sheed and Ward in 2000).
