The Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale presents a festive program of holiday favorites, A Prairie Home Companion-style, hosted by San Jose's own Leigh Weimers. Features an 80-voice chorus, the mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ and a brass ensemble.Formerly the San Jose State University Chorale, is composed of auditioned singers with musical and choral experience, who are dedicated to PASSION WITH PRECISION in performances of the highest musical standards.
ELENA SHARKOVA, Artistic Director of the Chorale and Director of Choral Activities at San Jose State University from 1998 to 2006, also directs the Cantabile Youth Singers. Much in demand as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator, Ms. Sharkova has lectured extensively on Russian choral tradition and performance practice, and has conducted in New York's Carnegie Hall and Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.
